NEWS: Coronavirus update for SPP schools

17/03/2020 Due to the current situation, all Schools Partnership Programme training sessions planned for the next few weeks will be postponed.

Dear Colleagues,

Following the Prime Minister’s address yesterday evening, I have made the decision to postpone all training and events for the Schools Partnership Programme planned for the next few weeks.

We will continue to monitor the situation. It is likely that any events in the early summer term (April/May) will also be postponed. We will be in touch with schools before the Easter holidays to confirm if that is the case.

It is clear that school and system leaders are facing great pressures and need to focus on the immediate priorities of addressing staffing challenges and keeping everyone in their schools safe.

I hope that the spirit of collaboration stays with you – whilst you shouldn’t visit in person, please do look out for each other and pick up the phone to check in on your colleagues. If there is anything further that I or the EdDevTrust can do to support you then do not hesitate to get in touch.

Please look after yourselves, I know how much school leaders care for their teams and their pupils but the metaphor of putting on your own oxygen mask before helping others is one of those clichés with real truth.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
